My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, the hit anime adaptation of the beloved prequel manga, officially concluded its 13-episode second season on March 30, 2026. Since then, fans have been eagerly scouring the internet for any news regarding a third season.
As of August 2026, a third season of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes has not yet been officially announced by Studio Bones or TOHO animation. However, there are plenty of reasons for fans of the illegal heroes to remain optimistic about the show's future.
Why Season 3 is Highly Likely
Despite the lack of an immediate green light, a continuation of Vigilantes feels almost inevitable due to one major factor: unadapted source material.
The My Hero Academia: Vigilantes manga, written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and illustrated by Betten Court, successfully concluded its run in May 2022, spanning a total of 126 chapters collected into 15 volumes. The anime's first two seasons, which were produced relatively close together as split-cours, have only adapted a portion of that overarching story.
Furthermore, the final arcs of the Vigilantes manga feature some of the most intense battles and crucial character development in the series, including direct tie-ins to the main My Hero Academia timeline. From a narrative perspective, leaving the story unfinished would be a massive missed opportunity for the production committee.

Studio Bones' Busy Schedule
The most likely reason for the delay in a Season 3 announcement is simply the sheer workload currently being managed by Studio Bones.
As noted by fans closely following the studio's production slate, Bones is currently juggling several massive projects. In addition to their work on the mainline My Hero Academia anime, which recently released a new OVA, and the latest theatrical film (My Hero Academia: You're Next), the studio is also deeply involved in producing other high-profile anime, such as the upcoming Gachiakuta adaptation.
Because Vigilantes is handled by Bones' Studio B, the same team responsible for Mob Psycho 100, a gap between seasons is entirely normal as the team cycles through projects. Many industry watchers predict that we may not see Vigilantes Season 3 until late 2027 or even 2028, depending on when the studio can fully dedicate its resources back to Naruhata.
Until an official announcement is made, fans can rewatch the first two seasons of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes currently streaming worldwide on Crunchyroll.
